A few details
NutritionATC was a big project. I worked for Dr. Tichenal at the Nutrition department at the University of Hawaii. The site’s main purpose was to educate Certified Athletic Trainers (the ATC) for further training, but it also served as a hosting site for the “Health Options” articles.
How we solved it
This website was challenging as it had to be hosted on the University server, which didn’t have ColdFusion. Therefore, I used ColdFusion to generate all the html pages. This site has over 300 articles, so it’s key to use dynamic web development, which just means database driven.

Making the app managable
The website is powered by ColdFusion & MySQL. I used ColdFusion to generate all the articles, otherwise I would have had to generate over 300 webpages!
Research on what a Certified Athletic Trainer was, and how this website could help them.
A lot of planning went into the site, as I had to figure out how to create many files. I went with programming the application to generate all the pages.
Being my first big website I had to learn SEO, and to figure out how to get Google to notice the site.
